Fluorosis is a condition that is caused by excessive fluoride in water during the years when a tooth develops inside the jawbone. It refers to aesthetic and structural defects in the tooth. Fluorosis can take place due to a number of reasons such as; swallowing fluoride toothpaste, consuming too much fluoride or taking too many fluoride supplements, excessive amounts of fluoride in drinking water.
